“I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.”
Albert Einstein

“Have Patience. Like I say to my American friends, it took you more than two hundred years to get where you want us to get in two hundred days.”
Mikhail Gorbachev, Esquire – September 2008

“I love you.”
Jackie Robinson to his wife Rachel

Not really a quote as it is a great story…I was listening to Bob Costas on the radio earlier this summer (2008) and he had an interview with Rachel Robinson, widow of Jackie Robinson. She had many great stories to share, but the one that stood out was about the day Jackie died. He hadn’t felt good the night before and they decided together that they would get up and early and see the doctor. As Rachel was in another room she heard Jackie running towards her, he collapsed in her arms as he told her he loved her. Jackie Robinson died of a heart attack, but the story is just amazing. Knowing something was wrong the last thing he did was let the love of his life know how he felt.

Dennis, wound up at your blog today via Travis – saw this quote @ Jackie R. Truman has been reading a book about Jackie, and the chapter last night was when he died. The man had a life worth looking up to – thanks for sharing this on your blog. JMR

      Thanks Jennifer!

Obviously he was a great player, but it was nice to learn he was such a wonderful individual as well. The way he passed is such a warn, yet heartbreaking, story. You know they really loved each other. Aw! :)

      Best,
      Dennis
