Facebook is now allowing users to make a one-time change to their username

Their is now an option to update or change your Facebook “Username”. This will give people the opportunity to change their username if they’ve made a mistake. Up until this point Facebook has said that you would not have an option to ever change your name. Additionally the only changes that have been made have required you to contact Facebook directly, so the flexibility is definitely a nice option.

If you navigate through your “Settings” and then select “Account Settings” there is now an option under “Name” that lists your current “Username”. If you have already signed up for a username there is now an option to click on “change” and check the availability of a new username.

Facebook still offers a word of warning, “Choose your new username carefully. You can only change your username once.”

However, checking within the various “Pages” that I am an administrator of I did not see an option to make a change there. It would be nice to see Facebook roll that functionality out to “Pages” as well.
